The MoBank Group has launched MoPowered, a mobile commerce managed service that it says can improve accessibility to mobile retailing for merchants across the UK. It allows retailers to integrate a mobile retailing platform, commonly spun-off from existing website material, with minimal disruption to their everyday business for an on-going fee
MoBank works in partnership with leading payment companies such as WorldPay, Ogone, Realex and Sagepay, increasing its distribution range for potential UK merchants. The vendor says it is compatible with all the major operating platforms.
MoPowered provides secure mobile payment capabilities which are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant and compatible with 3D-Secure schemes, such as Verified by Visa and Mastercard Securecode. It charges predominantly through pay-per-purchase models
Commenting on the launch, Dominic Keen, chief executive of the MoBank Group, which has HMV, Game and Waterstones as clients, said: "We estimate that 80% of UK merchants aren't currently on the mobile channel. MoPowered will stimulate a significant change in the retail world as it makes m-commerce readily available to merchants of all sizes."
