Streamline introduces TNS IP authentication technology

14 March 2012

Streamline has added Transaction Network Services IP authentication connectivity to its Point of Sale (PoS) card payment processing solutions for merchants, allowing it to offer its clients enhanced security beyond the minimum PCI DSS requirements.

The TNS Secure SSL Gateway, an IP authentication network channel for PoS terminals which Streamline is introducing will provide a resilient, authenticated payment exchange between card payment terminals and the Streamline processing platforms, says the vendor.

The custom-designed solution should provide a secure solution that allows Streamline’s merchant customers to benefit from faster payment processing, shorter queues and cost savings as dedicated dial lines can be removed.

Commenting on the partnership, Matt Rowsell, chief commercial officer at Streamline, said: “TNS has long been our partner for payments connectivity on our dial-up PoS terminal estate, so we had no hesitation in using its expertise to deliver an IP-based solution. Security was our number one focus in migrating to IP technology and TNS was the only provider that demonstrated both a clear understanding of our needs and the capability to deliver. We constantly strive to deliver a first class service for our customers, and know that speed and resilience are of paramount importance.”
