Scottish accounting practice plans to integrate Twinfield bookkeeping system with CCH accounts production software to eliminate manual re-keying of data and enhance service to clients
William Duncan & Co, one of Scotland's most established Chartered Accountancy firms, has become the first Scottish accounting practice to deploy the Twinfield online accounting system. Twinfield is a Wolters Kluwer business. By moving to a cloud-based accounting model William Duncan will be able to transform its value proposition to clients, increasing online collaboration, improving speed of service and providing 24/7 access to accounting information from any location.
William Duncan, which first began trading almost 100 years ago, is anticipating the integration of Twinfield with CCH Accounts Production software later this year. Both Twinfield and CCH are part of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting and by integrating the two systems William Duncan will be able to achieve much greater levels of automation, from client bookkeeping right through to final accounts production.
Commenting on the decision to implement Twinfield, Crawford Millar, IT Manager at William Duncan says, “The future of accounting is definitely online. The cloud business model enables us to transform service provision to our clients. By using the Twinfield cloud-based system our clients have quicker, easier access to real-time management information at the touch of a button, irrespective of their location. They have a new level of business insight that wasn’t available to them previously, as all of their key performance data is now available in a central portal. From our perspective, this means we are able to engage more closely and more frequently with our clients to help them interpret and then act on the findings.”
Millar continues, “The fact that Twinfield is a cloud-based system also means that clients have nothing to install, nothing to maintain and the service is available 24x7 from any PC, tablet or mobile device. This takes away all of the hassle normally associated with issues such as software and hardware updates, and data back-ups. This is all handled by Twinfield which means that we have more time to focus on what they do best – giving accounting advice.”
Robert Fergusson, Managing Partner at William Duncan, concludes, “We looked at a number of online accounting systems but Twinfield impressed us because of its scalability, security and its speed of operation. Twinfield is a very modern, easy to use system that was designed as a cloud-based solution over 10 years ago and it is able to handle large volumes of data without this having any impact on the overall performance of the system. We are looking forward to a very successful business partnership with Twinfield.”
