Saxo Capital Markets UK appoints Nick Beecroft as new chairman

23 July 2012

Saxo Capital Markets UK, the wholly owned British subsidiary of Saxo Bank A/S, the online trading firm, has made Nick Beecroft the chairman of its Board. The industry veteran and ex-member of the Bank of England's foreign exchange (FX) Joint Standing Committee has been with Saxo in the UK since 2009, and is tasked with driving forward growth at the UK arm of the business.

An Honours Graduate from Oxford University, Beecroft has over 30 years of international trading experience within the financial industry, including senior global markets roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and Citibank. He joined Saxo in 2009 as a senior markets analyst and will continue to speak on behalf of the company to financial news channels such as CNBC and Bloomberg.

Beecroft replaces Albert Maasland as chairman of the board, who the chief executive of Saxo, Torben Kaaber, appointed in June 2011. Commenting on the replacement, Kaaber said: “With Nick’s market knowledge and know-how, we can further develop the business and satisfy our clients. As the wholly owned UK subsidiary of Saxo Bank, we have already grown to become an expert in FX and multi-asset trading and we pride ourselves on having the best technology, tools and market insight available to our clients.”
