Broadway Malyan go-live with new integrated accounting and project management system
Broadway Malyan, a global architecture, urbanism and design practice which employs over 500 people in 15 offices around the world, has ‘gone live’ with a new fully integrated practice management and accounting solution. The new system combines Cubic Interactive’s Rapport 3 practice and project management software with online accounting software by Twinfield, part of global information service company Wolters Kluwer, to automate business processes.
Broadway Malyan was using an ageing financial system - Progression by RedSky - based upon an Oracle database. The old system was becoming expensive to manage and maintain and had only limited integration capabilities into Rapport 3, as there was no published API for Cubic Interactive’s developers to work with - which made the process of integration all the more complicated.
In August 2011, Broadway Malyan implemented Cubic Interactive’s Rapport 3 practice management software for HR management, contact management and quality assurance. Three months later, a decision was taken for the next phase - detailed financial project management - and Cubic Interactive’s developers started to integrate its Rapport 3 software with Twinfield’s online accounting software. The resulting integration, which was completed in just six-eight weeks, automatically updates all of the sales and purchase accounting data, together with all expense data from Rapport 3 into Twinfield. As it is a global, multi-currency business, exchange rates for any currency are also transferred from Rapport automatically.
The practice’s six UK offices and its Madrid office were the first to ‘go live’ with the solution on 1st May.
Broadway Malyan is distinguished by its global reach, unrivalled diversity, with 500+ sector experts, and distinctive client focus, with over 80% of 2011 income from repeat business. The company prides itself on creating world-class and fully-integrated cities, places and buildings.
Anne Howard, Associate Director at Broadway Malyan, explains, “As a global business with offices across world centres and time zones we need up-to-date management information on which to base our decisions and it is vital that we have visibility of the financial position of our projects each day.”
Howard continues, “We chose Twinfield because it was the right sized solution for our business. As a cloud-based solution it is providing us with a scalable, flexible system which will allow us to standardise our processes across all of our businesses in every region and increase our visibility. This initial phase is expected to result in significant cost savings of up to 50%.”
Daniel LoGiudice, director at Cubic Interactive, adds, “What impressed us about Twinfield was its scalability, security and its speed of operation. Twinfield was designed as a cloud-based solution over 10 years ago and its architecture means that is able to handle large volumes of data without this having any impact on the overall performance of the system.”
LoGiudice concludes, “Our integration module is now available so that other Rapport 3 customers will be able to integrate with Twinfield Accounting in a matter of just a few days.”
