In a continuing difficult market environment Börse Berlin concludes 2012 with a total turnover of 48.3 billion Euro and 7.6 million trades.
The total turnover of both marketplaces XONTRO and Equiduct increased slightly by 1.5 per cent to 48.3 billion Euro in 2012 compared to 2011 (47.6 billion Euro). The number of trades reached 7.6 million, a plus of 10 per cent (2011: 6.9 million).
In broker-aided Xontro turnover and number of trades fell short of expectations. Compared to the previous year turnover amounted to 12.4 billion Euro, almost 11 per cent less than 2011 (13.9 billion Euro). The number of trades decreased by 32 per cent to 156,058 (230,733).
Equiduct, Börse Berlin´s pan-European market place, continued its positive development. Turnover increased by 6.5 per cent to 35.9 billion Euro (33.7 billion Euro in 2011). The number of trades grew by almost 12 per cent to 7.5 million (6.7 million). During 2012 Equiduct has executed 1.8 million trades in its Best Execution Service PartnerEx, saving retail investors across Europe € 1.1 million.
