An independent jury presented PayLife and SIX Payment Services with the FSTech Award for ‘Outsourcing Partnership of the Year’ in recognition of their joint migration project. The FSTech awards are an annual event, held by FSTech Magazine. The jury described the PayLife and SIX Payment Services project as ‘The largest and most successful European migration of a merchant and card portfolio that has been undertaken in Europe so far‘.
SIX Payment Services and PayLife Bank have worked together since 2008, following PayLife Bank’s decision to outsource the processing of Maestro cards, ATMs and PoS terminals. The migration over to SIX Payment Services’ platform was completed without any disruption to the service experienced by the 8.2 million Austrian debit card holders or the merchants using over 65,000 PayLife POS terminals.
As a result, PayLife Bank and SIX Payment Services beat off tough competition from renowned international financial institutions, including Lloyds TSB and National Australia Group, to win the coveted accolade.
Niklaus Santschi, CEO SIX Payment Services, said of the award win: “We are very happy to have won the FSTech award. This recognition of the migration project with PayLife Bank by a British jury illustrates the international acknowledgement of this achievement within the payments industry."
Peter Neubauer, CEO PayLife, said: “Our aim was to increase PayLife’s competitiveness by using a proven pan-European processing platform. We now experience the benefits of our partnership with SIX Payment Services as part of our operations on a daily basis. This award confirms the exceptional co-operation between the project teams at SIX Payment Services and PayLife.”
