S&P Capital IQ hosts “Analytical Solutions for the Unrated Universe” conference in Moscow

Moscow - 19 October 2011

“Analytical Solutions for the Unrated Universe”, the half-day conference will feature speakers from a number of divisions of S&P Capital IQ – including Risk Solutions and Ratingsdirect – as well as a speaker from Standard & Poor’s Infrastructure Finance Ratings.

Solutions Architect Gustavo Tella and Michael Baker, Director of Risk Solutions, will host a credit workshop for “Analysing the Credit Health of Electric Utilities Using Relative and Absolute Measures.” The workshop will provide an overview of the credit health of the region’s electric utilities; demonstrate how to leverage quantitative tools to apply sensitivity analysis; examine qualitative and quantitative aspects of fundamental analysis; and explore the use of relative peer analysis to approximate credit strength in the unrated universe.

“We offer many products and services tailored to the Russian and CIS region, and it is a strategically important market for us,” says Damian Burleigh, Managing Director at S&P Capital IQ EMEA. “Hosting this conference is a good opportunity to raise our profile with Russian credit analysts and demonstrate practical methodologies for establishing the creditworthiness of unrated entities and issuances.”

The conference will also include talks on the rated universe. Ksenia Edsall, Associate Director, and Philipa Watts, Director at S&P Capital IQ, will give a 15 minute presentation on Ratingsdirect Russia. This is a newly-launched service aimed at Russian credit analysts, featuring bi-lingual content in Russian and English, and including over 300 ratings on more than 100 issuers based in the region.
