Document management and imaging software author, Version One, has scooped a prestigious Green Apple Environment Award for its newly developed DbCapture PDF solution. Version One was presented with the award during a ceremony at the House of Commons on 14 November 2011. This is the ninth year running that Version One has received a Green Apple Award.
The Green Apple Awards, run by independent environment group, The Green Organisation, honour companies that demonstrate environmental best practice. The awards are well established as being one of the most influential environmental award schemes worldwide.
Julian Buck, Version Oneâs Managing Director says, "We are proud to once again have our document management and imaging software solutions recognised for making a positive environmental contribution. To win this prestigious award for the ninth year running demonstrates our continued dedication to fulfilling organisations' environmental needs alongside their business requirements.â
Version One's DbCapture PDF, which is an addition to intelligent data capture solution, DbCapture, enables users to electronically process purchase invoices in a PDF format, eliminating the need for a paper invoice.
DbCapture PDF automatically imports purchase invoices attached to email into Version Oneâs optical character recognition (OCR) solution, where the invoice information is extracted and verified before being uploaded into an organisationâs finance system.
Buck says, âDbCapture PDF is the latest cog in our paperless office technology wheel. It has eliminated the need to print out and scan invoices for processing, enabling finance departments to not only dramatically cut paper but also to reduce carbon emissions as they take the final step to becoming a truly paperless function.â
The Green Apple Award is the latest in a series of awards won by Version One. The company recently scooped the Paperless Office & Document Management provider of the year award at the prestigious Software Satisfaction Awards (SSA). Version One has also been a Green IT Awards winner for the past two years.
