Activ Financial Awarded Best Innovation in Options at the 2011 FOW Awards

London and New York - 21 November 2011

Activ Financial, a global provider of fully managed low-latency enterprise market data solutions, today announced it has been awarded the 2011 FOW Award for the Best Innovation by an IT or Software Firm in the Options category. Launched in 2009, FOW’s Awards for Innovation recognize industry-leading technologies within the derivatives market.

“Activ Financial has created a world-class network of fully managed market data services that sets the standard for global market data distribution and we are pleased FOW recognized this achievement,” said Frank Piasecki, President of Activ Financial. “By providing low-latency services to quantitative and algorithmic strategies, our goal is to help all players in the industry – from smaller options shops to the larger players - compete in this growing, competitive market.”

Activ recently added several enhancements to its offering, including becoming the first external data provider to distribute Top of PHLX Options Plus Orders, the premier data feed for NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM, one of the largest options exchanges in the US. Activ also led the charge in the hardware acceleration space with the launch of its ACTIV MPU Gen2, the second generation of its FPGA-accelerated market data offering. MPU Gen2 was designed to provide low latency market data to firms dealing with exploding options volumes and the weight of mounting market data management costs, all while helping users reduce their hardware footprint by as much as 80 percent.
