William W. ("Bill") Hunt, a seasoned global executive and proven leader with a wealth of financial services experience, has joined the Multifonds board of directors. He has spent his career between the US and Asia, particularly relevant given Multifonds' ambitions in those regions, and was president and CEO of one of the worldâs largest institutional money managers, State Street Global Advisors (SSgA).
He started with State Street in Japan in 1994, following securities and investment management roles at Swiss Bank Corporation International and AIG Investment Corporation in Tokyo. By 2001, at the time of his return to Boston, State Street had achieved lead market positions (among non-Japanese firms) in both asset management and asset servicing. Hunt also served as a senior member of State Streetâs Asia-Pacific development board, the executive team responsible for strategic planning across the entire Asian region
On his return to the US, Bill continued his rise and in 2005 was appointed President and CEO of SSgA, and in 2006 Vice Chairman of State Street Corporation. At SSgA he was responsible for leading a team that by 2007 had grown to approximately 2,800 people, operating in 24 locations around the globe, with revenues of over US$1 billion, and US$ 1.9 trillion in assets under management.
Oded Weiss, CEO of Multifonds, said: âBillâs extensive experience in both the US and Asian markets makes him perfectly suited to help us continue the exciting growth trend at Multifonds. Both markets are key areas for us over the coming year, and we look forward to benefitting from Billâs fantastic understanding of our industry.â
Bill Hunt said: âJoining the Multifonds board was an easy decision for me. Iâve long admired what Multifonds offers in terms of multiple jurisdictions, asset classes, fund structures, locations, time zones, currencies and languages â all on a single platform. I look forward to working closely with Oded and the rest of the team over the coming years.â
