Thomson Reuters Wins Industry Awards for Real-Time Data and Infrastructure Solutions

New York, NY, USA - 27 May 2011

Thomson Reuters received four awards at the Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data Awards 2011, acknowledging its excellence in the delivery of world-class real-time data and infrastructure solutions. The awards are voted on by financial firm end-users and a judging panel of leading industry experts.

Thomson Reuters achieved merited wins, including:

• Best Low Latency Data Vendor

• Best Real-Time Market Data Initiative (Vendor) - Thomson Reuters Elektron Global Infrastructure

• Best Real-Time Market Data Initiative (User Firm) - RBS rolls out Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform

• Best Data Provider for Foreign Exchange

Since launching Elektron last year, Thomson Reuters continues to enhance the infrastructure, data, and application solutions that underpin the high performance network, which was recognized with the Best Real-Time Market Data Initiative (Vendor) award. Elektron already provides connectivity to all key markets and liquidity pools via a single access point, and delivers a full suite of high-quality data at the speed and with the depth of information required by firms of all sizes, along with analytics and value-added services that have recently been enhanced through partnerships with Corvil, Panopticon, Redkite and StreamBase.

Royal Bank of Scotland’s deployment of the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform won the Best Real-Time Market Data Initiative (User Firm). This project demonstrated the strength of the Enterprise Platform for Real-Time and its ability to integrate high-performance data with a wide and varied application architecture.

This is also the fifth consecutive year that Thomson Reuters has been named the Best Low Latency Data Vendor, demonstrating leading expertise in a highly competitive market segment, the continued success of the Thomson Reuters low latency data feed offering and the significant ongoing technology investments that ensure cutting-edge performance.

Jon Robson, President, Enterprise, Thomson Reuters, said: “Winning these industry awards, which are voted on by leading practitioners, is a clear endorsement of the value that our customers receive from Elektron. As market structure continues to evolve and the uptake of high frequency trading strategies drives spiralling data volumes and an ever-increasing focus on latency, Elektron provides a true step change in performance that enables our customers to respond more quickly to market opportunities across the globe. We would like to thank those customers for their support and remain committed to delivering innovative solutions that address their business challenges.”

Finally, Thomson Reuters was recognized as the Best Data Provider for Foreign Exchange, as it has been every year since the inception of these awards.
