Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L), the global application software and services company, today announced the appointment of Alan Riegler to the newly-created position of Banking Regional Director of the Americas. Misys is the leading provider of transaction banking solutions and the new post was created to meet the resulting growing demand the company is seeing in North and South America.
With more than 20 yearsâ experience in the financial services industry, particularly in minimizing risks for customers during business transformation projects, Riegler will lead the Americas solutions consulting team. He is responsible for sales, product support, and client engagement activities, as well as providing input on product roadmaps. Leaning on his experience in successful project implementations within the core banking business, Riegler will look to enhance and expand Misysâ footprint in the region. He will strengthen the firmâs reputation as a core banking solutions provider in the Americas and build on existing delivery capabilities.
Before joining Misys, Riegler spent three years as a Partner at CCG Catalyst Consulting Group. Prior to this he was a Principal at Ernst & Young in the Management Consulting unit and a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Financial Services Industry Practice. Riegler also held the role of Vice President of Systems & Planning at First Horizon Bank. He will be based in New York City and will report directly to Tim Goodhind, Head of Solutions Consulting at Misys.
âWe are focused on expanding our senior team and are extremely pleased to have someone with Alanâs breadth of experience join our global transaction banking unit,â comments Goodhind. âAs the global economy emerges from the recent financial downturn, clients are looking for flexible and agile products that can deliver quick ROI and offer lower total cost of ownership. Alan is the right person to expand our high-performance core and transaction banking solutions across the Americas region to meet the growing demand.â
âI am excited to be joining a globally established company such as Misys,â states Riegler. âAs Americas-based financial institutions look to grow internationally, Misys is well-positioned to support their expansion objectives and satisfy their technology needs. I look forward to working with the banking solutions teams here and across the global business, bringing my perspective from both the end-user and the solutions provider side to the role.â
