Leading systems provider, Open GI, has strengthened its e-commerce operation with the appointment of Geoff Ainsworth to the newly created role of e-commerce Software Delivery Manager.

Geoff (pictured above) brings a wealth of general insurance experience and technical knowledge to this key position, previously managing a development team within a large multinational insurer. As Software Delivery Manager, Geoff will be responsible for assisting with the continued development of Open GI’s e-commerce strategy to ensure that solutions reflect the demands and needs of the broker market.

The expansion of the e-commerce team is in response to the rapid growth of Open GI’s web development contracts. Geoff and his team of 32 will control the delivery of e-commerce solutions, from analysis through to development and live support within the e-commerce channel, for both customer and strategic projects.

Geoff Ainsworth, e-commerce Software Delivery Manager, Open GI, said: “Open GI is a leader in the broker marketplace so I am delighted to be part of the e-commerce team. It is vital we continue to deliver end-to-end e-commerce solutions for brokers.

I hope to continue to enhance the ability for brokers to ultimately increase their online revenue through Open GI’s e-commerce services.”

Commenting on the appointment, Sue Craig, Head of Software Development, said: “As a rapidly expanding area and by creating this role within the e-commerce team, we hope to enhance the client experience. Our new e-commerce services are being well received by the customer base and we have some exciting plans for 2012. Geoff’s management and software delivery experience will further enhance the e-commerce software offering for brokers.”
