Dimension Data China Amplifies Advent's Value Proposition Using Converged Communications Architecture

As part of its rapidly expanding customer base, Advent Software, a provider of mission-critical applications to investment management organisations, knew it needed a new communication infrastructure that supported its globally connected client-base. It turned to Dimension Data China to design and build a new converged communications infrastructure that supported both traditional on-premise and cloud-based software delivery models.

A Bloomberg Global Poll of 1,030 respondents points to China as a top investment market in 20111. In such a dynamic economy, access to information becomes a key differentiator for businesses. Advent Software, which offers software and data solutions and services primarily used by investment management organisations, took the opportunity of revamping its IT communications infrastructure to better cater to its fast growing client base in China.

Dimension Data China was chosen to build a new converged architecture which offered seamless wired and wireless connectivity and integrate traditional communication tools with new collaboration technologies from any location, using any device and accessing any application throughout the organisation. The team also developed a converged communications solution that allowed Advent Software's business to scale efficiently as the business grew.

Comprising Cisco IP Telephony solution, Hosted Voicemail and Advanced IP Telephony monitoring and reporting, the Converged Communications solution offered a number of benefits including reduced set up costs, increased flexibility and scalability, improved security and enhanced continuity of business services.

The new solution is expected to yield up to 20 per cent reduction in travel expense. The custom-designed communications infrastructure takes advantage of the latest innovations around converged communications to ensure that Advent Software is able to support its growing client base regardless of geographical distance. Through faster system response time and lower operating costs by sharing network resources across the WLAN, the solution will contribute up to 60 per cent improvement in business bidding process.
