InvestTech Systems Consulting Provides Investment Manager With Consistent, Reliable Investment System Implementation Assistance For Multiple Projects

12 April 2011

InvestTech Systems Consulting, Inc., the leading Investment Technology and Investment Operations consulting firm for institutional investment managers, has completed a series of investment systems projects for a $20 billion global high-yield asset manager. Each project served as a building block to the next, and the InvestTech team served as consistent, reliable and knowledgeable resources for each successful phase.

The InvestTech team was initially engaged to assist with the Order Management System selection. The project culminated in the client’s selection of Bloomberg AIM, and the subsequent engagement involved the implementation of Bloomberg AIM, inclusive of pre and post-trade compliance, connectivity to OMEGEO CTM, as well as integration to Thomson Reuters’ PORTIA using both Bloomberg Gateway and Thomson Reuters’ Automated Import Manager.

The following year, the manager’s growth in the bank debt and loan space necessitated the implementation of Markit’s Wall Street Office, and InvestTech was re-engaged. InvestTech’s integration work for this project involved generating XML messages spawned from the Bloomberg Gateway data to comply with the specifications of the Wall Street Office Trade Interface application. Additionally, the integration required building Wall Street Office data extracts for bank loan securities, transactions and prices, and mapping these data fields to PORTIA by enhancing Thomson Reuters Automated Import Manager application. Lastly, InvestTech customized a reconciliation tool to compare the holdings between PORTIA, Bloomberg AIM and Wall Street Office, and generated reconciling transactions to the required systems.

Jill Katz, InvestTech Managing Director, who led the series of projects over the past few years and continues to work with the client commented, “Our client greatly benefits from utilizing the same trusted consulting team for related projects. We hit the ground running, because of the knowledge gained from previous efforts.” Ms. Katz added, “Most recently, our client purchased SS&C’s Sylvan for performance attribution, and once again InvestTech was asked to assist with the integration of Sylvan to Wall Street Office and PORTIA.”
