Risk consultancy Proviti appoints Tim Brooke as Managing Director

London - 20 September 2010

Protiviti Inc, a global business consulting and internal audit firm, has appointed Tim Brooke as a managing director within its London office, where he will lead the UK Internal Audit and Financial Controls (IAFC) team.

Tim has more than two decades’ experience delivering professional services to the financial services industry. His areas of expertise include corporate governance, enterprise-wide risk management, global internal audit, control optimisation, corporate restructuring and transition management. He also has significant experience in determining and driving business strategy.

Before joining Protiviti, Tim was part of a highly regarded team where he was hired as a consultant and leader in the restructuring of Northern Rock Plc, helping to prepare the government-owned bank for private ownership. Northern Rock has now emerged from its more troubled times to create two new value-adding entities, both in terms of a well capitalised deposit taker and an asset management company, that is repaying the taxpayer shareholder.

For more than a decade Tim was employed at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he served as a Vice President and Regional Head in areas including operations, risk and internal audit, both in the UK and overseas. He has also held roles in the mutual sector including Head of Group Risk and Audit at the Yorkshire Building Society.

Andrew Clinton, Head of Protiviti UK said: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to the team at Protiviti. He has a great record in the financial services industry and his skills and knowledge will complement the company well. This is an exciting time in our history, as we continue to grow our internal audit, risk, compliance and IT consulting businesses.”

Commenting on his appointment, Tim Brooke said: “I am delighted to be joining a highly respected and dynamic organization such as Protiviti. Having worked in financial services for many years and having led a risk and audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, I saw in Protiviti the huge opportunity that a differentiated and nimble firm can offer. I truly believe that in our chosen markets Protiviti will become the provider of choice in the UK and create a unique environment in which our people will flourish”.
