GFI Group 2010 Top Broker in Credit Derivatives in Australia ranked First in Credit Derivative Category by Risk Australia Magazine

New York - 1 September 2010

GFI Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GFIG) has been ranked the number one credit derivative broker in Australia by Risk Australia magazine’s 2010 annual interdealer survey. GFI is a leading provider of wholesale brokerage, electronic execution and trading support products for global financial markets.

Over the past 12 years GFI has been ranked as the leading broker in more categories of credit derivatives than any other wholesale broker on a global basis.

GFI operates a leading global electronic trading platform for credit derivatives “CreditMatch®” that displays credit default swaps and bond prices together on the same screen. GFI's hybrid strategy, where users of CreditMatch® can also utilize experienced voice brokers to execute any trade, including large or bespoke orders, opens up more trading opportunities for its customers.

Scott Tatham, Managing Director GFI Group Asia, said: “We are delighted that GFI has once again been selected by our customers as the number one broker in Australian Credit Derivatives. This result reflects our commitment to providing a superior service” and added, “In the past year we have enhanced our GFI CreditMatch® system, which taken in conjunction with our leading voice broker team has allowed GFI to produce a very effective hybrid broking model.”

Risk Australia’s derivatives survey was completed by nearly 200 dealers, brokers, corporates and asset managers in Australia and New Zealand. Participants were asked to vote for their top three derivatives dealers in order of preference in derivatives categories in which they had traded over the course of the year.

GFI has also been ranked the number one credit derivative broker in the geographical regions of Americas, Europe and Asia by Risk magazine in 2010.
