Distra celebrates 10 years of transforming global payments

Sydney and Amsterdam - 26 October 2010

Real-time payments innovations key to ongoing success

Distra, a software provider operating at the heart of payments transformation, is proud to announce the celebration of its 10th anniversary at Sibos 2010. Conceived to address the need for real-time and innovative payment solutions, Distra has remained at the forefront of payments innovation throughout the last 10 years, working with customers including National Australia Bank (NAB), Citi, Barclays, NETS, Nationwide, Macquarie Bank, PayFair, VocaLink and Nokia. Distra will celebrate its success delivering innovative solutions to the global payments industry with drinks on-booth A615 each night from 5pm.

Reflecting on the past 10 years, Mike Aston, CEO Distra comments; “There have been dramatic changes in the payments landscape since Distra appeared on the map. UK Faster Payments, SEPA and the Payment Services Directive have all had an impact, but none so much as the demand from customers for real-time visibility of cash positions, and more accurate reporting and monitoring. The most significant development of the past decade is the move away from batch processing, with technology now able to deliver payments processing in near-real time. We’re looking forward to the next 10 years as the payments landscape pulls away from legacy technology and legacy thinking, to deliver even more agile solutions to customers.”

Incorporated in 2000, Distra’s flagship solution the Distra Universal Switch benchmarks transactions per second consistently ahead of industry standards, at enterprise level availability and for mission critical environments. Key to payments transformation, Distra provides hardware agnostic technology, enabling retail and wholesale payments to be processed across a single platform. Financial and non-financial institutions globally benefit from real-time convergence, allowing organisations to quickly address cost, regulatory and competitive challenges, with minimal risk and maximum reliability.
