Sumerian Launches U.S. Operations, Appoints Joanne Kinsella Managing Director, Americas

New York - 8 November 2010

Sumerian, a provider of intelligent IT analytics to some of the world’s most innovative companies, today announced the expansion of its global operations into North America with the establishment of offices in New York, NY and the appointment of Joanne Kinsella as Managing Director, Americas. Building on the company’s success in the region, Kinsella will be responsible for expanding Sumerian’s already impressive customer roster, providing local client support and meeting increasing market demand for Sumerian’s IQ services.

“Business leaders and IT managers throughout the world are facing increased pressure to deliver more IT services with fewer resources. U.S. companies, and financial services firms in particular, are no exception,” said Calum Smeaton, CEO of Sumerian. “More than ever, these firms need innovative solutions that can help them drive the right business decisions.”

Smeaton continues, “As we continue to expand our global presence, Jo’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to supporting our international operations while maintaining Sumerian’s signature exceptional customer service. Her proven track record and industry expertise will enable us to meet increasing market demand from financial services firms that need to improve holistic latency to enhance trading performance, enhance IT capacity to align with trading services, and de-risk change to the IT environment.”

A respected financial services executive, Kinsella brings more than 10 years of experience in the global financial technology sector to her role at Sumerian. Most recently, Kinsella served as Managing Director of ITRS America, where she oversaw all aspects of the Americas operation including sales, pre-sales and support. Prior to ITRS she was head of portfolio at BT Global Financial Services, where she was responsible for the finance vertical including Radianz low-latency services, trading systems, unified communications, collaboration and post trade messaging. Kinsella combines deep industry expertise with a comprehensive understanding of the specific pain points facing today’s global financial institutions, particularly in terms of holistic latency and its impact on trading performance.

“Sumerian’s value proposition is perfectly placed to meet the current and future challenges in the financial services marketplace, and I am very pleased to join the team” said Joanne Kinsella, Managing Director, Americas at Sumerian. “The ability to analyze end-to-end capacity, latency and complex environments from infrastructure through to business process - without having to deploy hardware or software at the customer site - well and truly sets Sumerian apart and enables us to give our clients a low-risk, light touch solution that drives significant efficiencies.”

Sumerian’s IQ services give global investment banks and financial sector companies the insight to make better, faster decisions and align IT accurately to drive business performance. The company’s unique approach combines software-based analytics with human intelligence to provide savvy IT leaders the information they need to deliver efficiencies and business growth. This distinctive approach gives large, global businesses the transparency and decision-making framework they need to optimize existing IT investments, cut infrastructure costs and manage the most complex IT environments.
