7 May 2010

Andrew Hodson, a senior executive at HSBC, is to join Citigroup’s private UK bank, a news report has claimed.

According to Reuters, an internal memo revealed that Mr Hodson is to begin working for Citi.

The trader is a managing director at HSBC and one of seven who, until now, was working for the UK bank’s ultra high net worth and high net worth wealth management team.

David Poole, head of Citi’s UK Private Bank, was quoted by the news provider as saying: "Not only does Andrew manage substantial clients and bring strong management skills, he will also contribute to the investment proposition required for such clients operating in an increasingly complex environment and world.”

The new post holder is reported to have up to 20 years experience working within investment management and was previously employed as a director at Schroders.

Previously, Citi Group announced the appointment of Rudolf Hitsch as a global market manager for the bank’s business in China.
