RIMES Technologies co-hosting first ever European PMAR event

London - 5 May 2010

RIMES Technologies, the leading provider of benchmark data management services, has announced that it will be co-hosting the Journal of Performance Measurement's first annual European performance measurement, attribution and risk conference (PMAR Europe) with the Spaulding Group, one of the money management industry’s leading consultancy firms. The conference, which is designed to stimulate thought and advance the attendees’ knowledge of performance measurement, has been running in the US for many years and is regarded as the gold standard of performance conferences.

The event will run from 8-9 June at the America Square Conference Centre in London. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear expert speakers discussing a range of timely topics that include performance attribution as an interactive control system; the changing role of the performance team; fixed income analysis and the performance team; the needs of pension funds; performance measurement and attribution with leverage and derivatives; hedge fund performance; and multi-currency attribution. Regulation, GIPS, the internal rate of return and VaR will also be discussed while Time-Weighting vs. Money Weighting will be debated.

David Spaulding from The Spaulding Group says: “The Spaulding Group has been hosting PMAR in the USA very successfully for many years, and has established it as the leading forum for learning about the latest issues, trends and methods in performance and risk attribution. Now that GIPS is becoming such a hot topic in Europe, we felt that the time was right to bring the event across the Atlantic, and to create an opportunity for European firms to discuss at first hand the issues and opportunities that affect investment performance measurement. We are delighted to have RIMES endorse the conference as co-hosts and we look forward both to June’s event and future European meetings.”

Christian Fauvelais, CEO of RIMES, says, “RIMES is committed to the performance measurement and attribution space. We have recently launched Barra Performance on RIMES, which combines Barra Analytics with RIMES’ extensive data coverage and delivery, and we currently provide benchmark data management for a variety of third-party solutions used by our European clients. We believe that the PMAR event is an essential date in the calendar. It will create an invaluable opportunity for European practitioners to discuss the operational, technical, financial and strategic challenges they face.”
