Farminform provides a wide variety of audited research on products, sales, outcomes, prices, and related information on pharmaceutical products. It is funded by pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers and covers over 98% of the pharma market and is a key provider of industry data for its member companies. Farminform member companies include AstraZeneca, Bayer, Eli Lilly, Merck, Roche, Sandoz, Schering-Plough, and virtually every other major name in pharmaceuticals.
Farminform selected Panopticon EX for this project, which was implemented by COME Computer Systeme GmbH of Switzerland. Panopticon EX is a comprehensive data visualization system that allows users to build and publish analytical dashboards to the web very quickly. It incorporates Treemap, Heatmap, Scatter Plot, and other visualizations along with Panopticon's unique StreamCube⢠OLAP data model to support on-the-fly data aggregations and slicing and dicing.
Harm Friskus, R&D Manager for Farminform, said, "We collect a huge variety of data about the pharmaceutical market - everything from prescription renewal rates to physical distribution of drugs. We needed a good way to demonstrate the value of our databases to our member companies and we initiated a search for the right tool. We found Panopticon and, with the help of Panopticon's partner COME Computer Systeme, were able to implement their EX product in just a few days. Our clients have been very pleased with the enhanced visibility they now have into our research."
Willem De Geer, Managing Director of Panopticon, stated, "This is an excellent example of a use case for our EX product. Farminform needed a system they could roll out quickly and that could handle large hierarchical data sets. They also needed data visualizations that were fully interactive and would allow executives and researchers in pharmaceutical companies to understand and identify trends, outliers and patterns in Farminform's data. We're especially appreciative of the help that COME Computer Systeme provided in supporting this application scenario."
Farminform outsources 100% of its functions to Brabers, a law firm based in The Hague.
