29 January 2009

Guidewire Software, a leading global provider of solutions for property/casualty (general) insurers, today announced that it has been named one of the Red Herring Top 100 Global Companies. The Red Herring editorial team deployed a detailed process to drill-down the best companies from 1,800 successful and eligible companies, first to 200 finalists, then to the top 100 winners of this global award. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration. The announcement of the winners was made at the Red Herring 100 Global taking place in San Diego from January 14-16, 2009. Present among the finalists were technology industry executives and venture capital leaders from around the world.

“We were so pleased to announce Guidewire Software as a Red Herring Top 100 Global Company,” commented Red Herring publisher, Alex Vieux. “Guidewire is a company that is excelling in its industry and has tremendous potential to achieve even greater success in the years ahead.”

“On behalf of the Guidewire team I’d like to thank Red Herring for this award. We are both honored and very proud,” said John Raguin, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. “We’d also like to thank our partners and most importantly our customers who have been instrumental in helping us define a winning product and delivery strategy.”

P&C (general) insurance companies use Guidewire’s products to support their mission-critical core operations, including underwriting and policy administration, claims management, and billing operations. 60 P&C carriers, of all sizes and lines of business, in eight countries, have chosen Guidewire.
