Industry Leaders Talk “Strategy” with Alphacet

Alphacet, Inc., a developer of innovative software solutions for quantitative analysts, portfolio managers and traders, today announced that it is bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the Alphacet management team through its new advisory board.

With regular meetings focused on how overarching trends affect various market segments within the quantitative analysis field, the Alphacet advisory board is committed to exploring new theories, examining the current climate and generating creative ideas that will enable Alphacet to the value it delivers to its customers.

Founding members include:

John Eley, chairman, is the CEO of Pivot, Inc. the leading provider of collaboration and liquidity management tools for the financial services industry. Previously, Eley was CEO of Hotspot FX, Inc., a subsidiary of Knight Capital Group, Inc. He has spent the last 10 years operating financial technology businesses and focusing on companies seeking to improve market structure in a variety of asset classes.

Peter Borish is the chairman and CEO of Computer Trading Corporation and has more than three decades of experience in the financial futures and derivatives markets. He was a founding partner and director of research for Tudor Investment Corporation, and began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he monitored foreign exchange futures and options.

Ross Garon is managing member of Tykhe Capital LLC, a financial services company with expertise in the application of sophisticated quantitative techniques and computer technologies to the financial markets, founded in 2002. Garon formerly was a member of the D. E. Shaw & Co. team that established the firm's London presence and successful customer business in equity-linked securities (now KBC Financial Products).

Dr. Robert Levinson, professor of computer science at the University of California, Santa Cruz, leads the Machine Intelligence group at the UCSC Baskin School of Engineering and has authored 46 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. More than 10 years ago, he began applying his expertise to learning market behaviors, resulting in the development of Alphacet Discovery.

Aron Miodownik is the founder of Cambrian Associates, a New York-based advisory firm focusing on the intersection of the technology and financial markets. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and has held CIO and COO positions at firms including Merrill Lynch and UBS.

Ulf Svensson is the chief technology officer of one of the larger U.K. based hedge funds. He is the former global head of electronic transaction services for hedge funds within Deutsche Bank. Svensson also acted as CTO for Soros Funds Management building, upgrading and modernizing its technology and applications infrastructure globally.
