Prime Bank (Gambia) Limited is a private commercial bank in the Gambia. It is the twelfth commercial bank to be licensed in the country, the bank is a subsidiary of Lebanese Canadian Bank (LCB), whose presence in Lebanon since the 1960 had been a success story in the Lebanese banking sector, where the bank is among the ten top Lebanese banks and the bank's performance has surpassed its age.
Mr. George E. Zard Abdou Jaoude, the Parent body of Prime Bank Gambia Limited, who is also the Chairman and General Manager of the Lebanese Canadian Bank, said the presence of his bank in the Gambia is no coincidence, but rather on conviction in the economic future of the country. The opening ceremony of Prime Bank Gambia Limited was on the twenty fifth of May 2009, under the auspices of the governor of the Central Bank of The Gambia.
The LCB chairman further explained that Prime Bank Gambia Limited is a subsidiary of LCB and they intend to provide them with the usual parent company support from training to roll out of new relevant products to target customers.
The process of applying BANKS® systems took a record time by ICS (London) Ltd., where the process took only two months, and began serving customers on the banking systems BANKS® beginning of June this year, which demonstrated its unique ability to enhance performance and increase the effectiveness of management information to improve and facilitate industry decisions in financial institutions.
Mr. Wail Malkawi, Vice President of Business Development of ICS, was also very confident in the step this represented for both Prime Bank and ICS:
âICS has signed a new agreement with Prime Bank, for the implementation of its international banking solution BANKSï¢, to be their IT partner. The implementation started on April 1st 2009 and ended on June 1st 2009. Our relationship with LCB has proven strong over years of close co-operation, and this agreement will again reinforce the close links between us. We are proud to implement BANKSï¢ in the subsidiaries and associates of LCB and we look forward to helping them in their future expansion plans.â
Mr. Malkawi also added that Prime Bankâs selection of BANKSï¢ was the result of the company's presence in the Gambia market; by applying BANKS in Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBANK), and for BANKSï¢ presence and spread in more than five countries in West Africa.
