RSA and Accenture extend outsourcing agreement

19 August 2009

RSA has extended its application outsourcing agreement with Accenture in a move that will see the insurance firm begin using a new policy management system in its UK operations.

The deal adds to the original contract between the two parties, which was signed six years ago and expires in 2012.

A business transformation program is currently being implemented by RSA as it looks to improve its product offering and presence in the UK market and James de Watteville, chief information officer for the UK, said that the move will "deliver significant cost reductions".

"The extension of our successful relationship defines a new wave of investment," he added, noting that Accenture's services will help to create "profitable top-line growth".

Earlier this month, RSA revealed profit before tax of $494 million for the first six months of 2009, a 24 per cent decrease when compared to the same period in 2008.
