âAs more and more skilled individuals are victims of the turmoil in the financial markets, the ability to learn new skills and stay current on the best practices being developed in the capital markets is critical,â said Numerix President and COO Steven R. OâHanlon. âLooking ahead, it will take individuals with specialized expertise to help institutions advance valuation and pricing best practices and meet new regulatory demands. This is our way of âgiving backâ to the financial community and we are excited to share our collective experience with our University members.â
Numerix is presently offering three separate course programs focused on different asset classes. Candidates must hold advanced degrees in financial engineering, applied mathematics or equivalent disciplines and have worked with derivatives at a financial institution or software company. As part of the selection process, applicants will be required to take a brief on-line exam. Similar courses are offered to Numerix clients at a cost of $3,000 per attendee.
Numerix University courses will first be offered in New York. Courses in London and Hong Kong are being planned for later this year and additional syllabi designed for IT professionals will be introduced in the coming months.
