SunGard’s Ambit Liquidity Manager Broadens Integration Options

16 September 2008

SunGard’s Ambit Liquidity Manager has broadened its integration options to offer its customers increased interoperability. Ambit Liquidity Manager delivers a fully integrated, multi-entity liquidity management solution that captures and monitors both internal and external cash movements in real-time.

Ambit Liquidity Manager offers support for a range of data formats from different internal and external systems and industry infrastructures. The solution is agnostic to the underlying data format and supports any ASCII flat text, fixed width, delimited file or any XML message structure. SWIFT FIN, SWIFTNet Cash Reporting and messages from other services are all supported as standard.

The new integration options are derived from the work SunGard has done with Microsoft in its “SWIFT Lab for Partners”, which helped integrate Ambit Liquidity Manager with Microsoft’s BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT. Ambit Liquidity Manager, which processes real-time information to offer up-to-the-minute positions, has also been integrated with SunGard’s Ambit Messaging Hub for SWIFTNet connectivity. It also uses technology within SunGard’s Ambit Reconciliation, the real-time matching and reconciliation solution.

Ambit Liquidity Manager provides functionality to execute queries against Nostro accounts in real-time via the SWIFTNet Cash Reporting service. This data is then used to build a real-time reconciled view of currency positions. Data is reconciled against an organization’s books and records and published in the real-time dashboard for an accurate, validated view of cash positions across the enterprise, throughout the day.

Wolfgang Prinz, group vice president of global transaction management solutions at SunGard’s banks and corporations business, commented: “Simple position reporting is not sufficient to provide a true view of positions. This recent work with Microsoft is indicative of SunGard’s commitment to provide a wide range of integration options. A real-time, validated view of positions can help corporations mitigate risk and make better investment and payment decisions based on the knowledge of available funds received. Customers can track short and long positions to make better decisions that help reduce overdraft costs and increase the return on capital employed.”
