New Solutions from Archer Technologies Solve Operational Governance, Risk and Compliance Challenges

16 September 2008

Archer Technologies (Archer), a provider of enterprise governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions, today debuted three new solutions to support operational GRC initiatives within global organizations. The Archer Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management solutions, developed through collaboration with more than 20 Fortune 1000 companies and business continuity experts from five leading consulting firms, allow organizations to take a centralized, consistent approach to planning for business process and technology interruptions and responding quickly in crisis situations to ensure their ongoing operations.

“Because we have already successfully implemented Archer to manage policy, vendor and upcoming incident management processes, it was an easy decision to pursue Archer’s Business Continuity Management solution,” says Phil Aldrich, information security manager for Iron Mountain. “The ability to centralize all aspects of our business continuity program using a best-in-class solution and to relate business continuity plans to policies, regulatory requirements, incidents and vendor data we are already managing in Archer were big wins for us and were key factors in our product selection.”

At the National Archer User Group Summit in March 2008, Archer’s Fortune 1000 clients requested the addition of the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management solutions as the next logical step in the lifecycle of their enterprise GRC programs. Through subsequent online working groups and interviews, Archer’s product experts have worked directly with clients to validate and enhance the solutions’ capabilities for plan maintenance and activation, workflow automation and reporting.

Archer also collaborated with operational risk experts from such companies as Accenture, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, KPMG and Wipro to ensure that the solutions provide a best-in-class foundation for global business resiliency programs. This validation from partners and industry experts, combined with extensive client interaction, highlight Archer’s innovative approach to solution development and delivery. With hundreds of hours of review, Archer’s solutions help companies bridge the gap between business and IT to support a holistic, comprehensive enterprise GRC strategy.

“Business continuity management, disaster recovery and crisis management are key considerations for companies that are leading in managing enterprise business risks,” says Greg Bell, KPMG’s Information Protection and Business Resilience leader. “The ability to integrate these components with governance, risk and compliance should be a priority for any organization.”
Through the Archer Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management solutions, organizations can:

- Manage the creation, review, testing and activation of business continuity plans to ensure rapid recovery of business processes.
- Develop, test and implement plans and procedures for recovering their critical IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster.
- Report crisis events, rapidly notify emergency personnel, implement response plans, and manage resolutions to protect employees, assets and ongoing business operations.

“Business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management have long been shelved within organizations until a major disaster or security breach spurs action,” says Jon Darbyshire, Archer president and CEO. “With the latest additions to the Archer GRC solution set, we are giving business users the tools to take a more proactive approach through process automation and centralization of critical business intelligence.”

Recognized by independent research firms as the leading provider of IT-GRC solutions, Archer has quickly moved to the broader enterprise level in response to growing client demand for solutions that support all categories of GRC. With the release of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management, Archer clients can solve challenges related to operational GRC and gain added value from the ability to centralize all aspects of their business resiliency program.
