To complement their already extensive teachings in valuation and market risk, Politecnico Di Milano will offer a new course in credit risk management in January 2009, and the QuIC Product Suite⢠will provide the infrastructure for the course.
âThe Politecnico Di Milano is among the best technical universities in Europe, and prides itself on delivering students a balance of both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to prepare them for a highly competitive marketplace,â says Emilio Barucci, Director of the Mathematical Finance Program within the Mathematics Department at the Politecnico Di Milano. âOur students will greatly benefit from using industry leading software that is both easy-to-use and flexible.â
By participating in the QuIC Academic Alliance program, the university will use the QuIC Product Suite featuring the QuIC Engineâ¢, a powerful vector-based calculation and simulation engine, and QuIC Scriptâ¢, a state-of-the-art vectorised scripting language. QuIC technology is a logical fit for an academic environment because it allows for financial models to be plugged directly into QuICâs risk workflow tool and be deployed alongside other models.
"QuIC Script allows users to develop sophisticated risk management and pricing applications without requiring them to master the considerable intricacies of data structure and algorithm design," stated Dave Peterson, Chief Financial Engineer for QuIC. "It provides an ideal platform for financial mathematics students, because it allows them to build concrete, practical illustrations of their studies rapidly, with minimal programming background."
