Principia wins Credit Technology Innovation Award

18 November 2008

Principia Partners, the leading solution provider for the management and administration of structured finance operations, has won Credit magazine’s inaugural Technology Innovation Award for 2008. The company has been recognized for its continued development of Principia SFP (Structured Finance Platform), as it addresses the challenges of today’s rapidly changing environment. The platform is used by structured finance portfolio managers globally, enabling them to integrate portfolio management and risk surveillance activities into compliance, operations and accounting functions.

The Credit Technology Innovation Awards highlight the most innovative and proven solutions available to credit professionals as participants look to stabilize their operations and gain greater control over their investment portfolios. Credit recognized Principia as a company playing a leading role in enabling its clients to navigate future changes to the regulatory landscape. Industry policy groups have all highlighted the importance of having a solid operational backbone for the diligent management of structured finance portfolios from active asset management, right through to accounting. Principia’s clients are seeing this as a priority as they look to succeed in the new financial landscape.

Matthew Attwood, editor, Credit said: “In its continued efforts to innovate and change with the times, Principia is one of the players we think is well positioned to help structured finance operations regain momentum and control as the market turns and new regulations and accounting rules are enforced. I look forward to seeing the company’s progress in 2009 as the new environment takes shape.”

“Over its fifteen year history, Principia has invested significantly in the development of dedicated software solutions for structured finance operations,” said Mark Kahn, EVP Sales, Principia. “Continuous engagement with our diverse client base, the regulatory community, and key industry groups has helped us channel our expertise into delivering a standardized and robust operating environment for structured finance managers. This innovation has enabled our clients to maintain control over their portfolios, ensuring that they can efficiently and accurately satisfy internal and external compliance demands. As the market stabilizes and evolves, Principia will continue to deliver solutions that satisfy the unique challenges of structured finance.”

Principia SFP Version 6, launched in November 2008, provides structured finance portfolio managers in bank treasuries, off-balance sheet operations and investment funds with the industry’s first standardized suite of compliance reports and out-of-the-box accounting. This enables clients to summarize and analyze risk exposures across the organization.
