Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), today announced that its Supply Chain Practice has successfully engaged with Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) the largest customer-owned health insurer in the United States to successfully transform their Strategic Sourcing and Procurement processes and help them establish their leadership position in the industry. The engagement helped HCSC gain better control and visibility on spend and drive efficiencies through the sourcing and procurement organizations after a successful implementation of the Ariba spend management suite of applications.

Wipro leveraged its proprietary “Supply Chain Transformation and Implementation” model for this initiative that could pave the way for the next version of global delivery in the supply chain management space.

Wipro's innovative “Supply Chain Transformation and Implementation” model allows system configuration, customization and retrofitting to be done remotely, resulting in approximately a 30% reduction in cost. The key highlights of this unique model are that it cuts down the implementation cost by 30 % over the traditional model and provides approximately 40% overhead reduction, resulting in a higher ROI from their enterprise application initiatives.

Srinivas Sai N., Global Head SCM practice at Wipro Technologies, said, “Wipro is continuously developing innovative solutions to help drive non-linear benefits for our clients. The benefits accrued to our customers from this unique “Supply Chain Transformation and Implementation” model validate our efforts.”
