American Bankers Association Endorses Trustwave’s Information Security and Compliance Solutions

10 November 2008

The American Bankers Association has endorsed the managed security services, compliance validation solutions and data security technologies of Trustwave, the leading provider of on-demand data security and payment card industry compliance management solutions to businesses and organizations throughout the world.

The ABA’s endorsement is awarded by the Corporation for American Banking, a subsidiary of the ABA, for products and services that help banks improve profitability, operate more efficiently and compete more effectively. Endorsed services are only selected by CAB following a rigorous product evaluation and vendor due-diligence process.

“Trustwave has the comprehensive security and compliance solutions necessary to ensure that financial institutions – both large and small – are protected,” said John Wolff, CAB president. “This alliance will provide our members with access to premier security and compliance solutions that are essential to comply with the latest standards for safeguarding information.”

Along with the services mentioned above, ABA’s endorsement includes Trustwave’s TrustKeeper® on-demand compliance management technology, which identifies the latest threats to network assets and information, and is used to validate compliance with multiple regulatory requirements like Gramm-Leach Bliley Act and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Trustwave offers best-of-breed managed security services, which include secure e-mail, unified threat management, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention technologies essential to complying with financial industry regulations and information security management. Also included in this Trustwave security portfolio are extended validation secure sockets layer (EV SSL) certificates, the new standard in Internet security. These EV SSL certificates validate the identity of Web sites to consumers and reduce the risk of fraud. These certificates help consumers recognize legitimate sites from counterfeit or “spoofed” Web sites, significantly reducing the risk of phishing.

This alliance will help banks with critical security functions, which are especially important to those organizations that do not have in-house IT capabilities. By outsourcing data security needs to Trustwave, banks can maintain compliance with regulatory standards and have a proven source to manage, monitor and support critical data assets. They will also have access to Trustwave’s 24x7 security operations center that offers multi-lingual support.

“Trustwave offers products and services from the core network to the distributed environment,” says Robert J. McCullen, chairman and CEO of Trustwave. “As the largest banking association in the country, we are excited to work with the ABA to provide security solutions to their extensive membership network.”
