e-MID closes 2007 with an increased dividend and keeps on aiming at an efficient bank liquidity circulation

Milan, Italy - 31 March 2008

On Friday 28th March 2008 the Board of Directors of e-MID SIM S.p.A. approved the draft of the 2007Annual Report with a pre-tax income of 672,000 € and a dividend of 3 € per share (it was 2 € in 2006) to the 31 Italian and international shareholders .

Despite the market turbulences occurred in the second half of 2007, the e-MID market has proved its efficiency and increased the number of counterparties with 21 new banks. The total number of institutions active on the e-MID markets has grown to 250 from 19 countries, including 18 Central Banks as observers.

The Board also regards the maintenance of the current company’s structure as the appropriate solution to guarantee high quality service levels to all its members and to money markets in general. The Board has also expressed its availability to evaluate international partnerships aiming at the creation of a European “Money Market Hub”, with the goal to efficiently distribute liquidity among traders, markets and institutions, to promote the integration of different money market products and to favour financial innovation.
