Exeros Wins Most Innovative MDM Technology Award at TDWI Master Data Management Insight Conference

19 March 2008

Exeros®, Inc., an innovator in automated data relationship discovery software, was chosen as the most innovative MDM technology by participants at a TDWI Master Data Management Insight Conference held in Savannah, Georgia on March 2-4, 2008. The conference was a strategic executive forum on MDM and customer data integration (CDI) hosted by The Data Warehousing Institute and PPM Media. Over one hundred industry leaders convened to discuss the overall Master Data Management (MDM) landscape and share best practices and solutions.

Exeros was voted as the most innovative MDM solution by conference participants. Exeros, which provides cross-system data analysis software (understanding the data that will be part of an MDM project), addresses a huge pain point noted by several conference speakers. Analyzing source data and the column and table relationships that span multiple, heterogeneous systems consumes an inordinate amount of time and expense and can easily derail fledgling MDM projects.

Conference co-chair Jill Dyche, a Partner at Baseline Consulting, said, “I was very encouraged by our attendees' positive response to Exeros. The reaction says a lot about the need for deliberate data discovery across source systems as part of an MDM effort. Exeros is addressing a bona fide challenge in the MDM market.”

The case study Exeros presented at the event involved a large bank which used the toolset to automate the mapping of asset management data spanning 24 systems. The tool accelerated the time to complete process more than tenfold when compared to previous methods and increased accuracy, enabling the project to succeed.

Wayne Eckerson, director of TDWI Research and conference co-chair, said, “Exeros did a great job of educating our audience about the complexity and risks involved in understanding distributed data in an MDM project.”
