First filed in May 2003, this patent applies to core technology embedded within the eXludus Optimizerâ¢ and RepliCatorâ¢ software suites, which enhance system virtualization by making it easier to deploy, provision, and use virtual machines and applications.
Virtualization strategies are widely implemented to lower economic and environmental costs, as a single physical system can be represented as many virtual systems. However, lengthy file transfer times associated with delivering copies of operating systems and applications to virtual systems lead to static environments and under-utilized resources. This limits virtualization benefits.
