Atos Origin and the Viveo group strengthen partnership

2 July 2008

In order to respond to developments in the banking sector and to meet the deadlines for regulatory compliance (SEPA, AML, MifID), the Viveo group, a recognized publisher in the banking world, and Atos Origin, one of the leading European IT service companies, are strengthening their partnership both in France and worldwide. The association of these two complementary leaders ensures that banks of varying sizes, origins and businesses, are able to take full advantage of the offers provided by each of the companies: a module management software solution that is at the forefront of technology and regulations, together with an unequalled service environment, from roll out to hosting and integration. 2007 saw this strengthened partnership between Atos Origin and the Viveo group materialized by the signature of a number of contracts in France and West Africa with renowned banks and financial establishments, such as Francetel, Monabanq and the Banque Chaabi du Maroc. In 2008, the two companies are giving fresh impetus to their 20-year ‘field’ relationship by becoming jointly involved in the largest scale banking computerization projects in France, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Nicolas METIVIER, the Marketing & Communication Manager and Director of the Payment System Business Unit at Viveo added “The unrivalled expertise of Atos Origin, a banking solution integrator, enables us to always offer our clients an environment of services that meets their expectations and requirements, in France and in all the countries where they have branches and representatives. Indeed, this cooperation with Atos Origin, extending over 40 countries, is an ideal part of our international development strategy, a source of growth for our company. It will thus enable us to offer support to French banks in their new operations abroad, in particular in emerging countries, and to attract local financial establishments in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.”

As expert service providers for the banking sector, the mission of Atos Origin is to support its clients in the definition and implementation of their strategic planning, during regulatory changes for example, so as to integrate the most accomplished banking software packages on the market, etc. Atos Origin is now extending its relationship with the Viveo group due to the technological pertinence of its software suite and its ambitious international development policy. Jean-Bernard Ladoux, Finance Platforms Director of the Systems Integration sector of Atos Origin France, emphasized “With the launch of V.Bank, a modular software suite combining the most up- to- date technology, such as the Web 2.0, and the best regulatory banking practices, the Viveo group has a technological answer to all the current and future operational problems of banks.

Due to our historic positioning in this sector, it seemed only natural to increase our synergies in the field with the Viveo group, with its 7000 customer banks and international development. We have therefore drawn up firstly a offer of services involving the outsourcing and hosting of the V.Bank solution in secured ASP mode, currently acclaimed by more than 15 midmarket banks, and secondly, an exhaustive offer of services involving compliance with SEPA, AML, etc.”

As part of the ongoing partnership, the Viveo group, together with Atos Origin France, and other players, is organizing a seminar on 12 June at the Grand Palais in Paris on the central theme “Tomorrow’s banking world” where a numbers of banking and financial establishments will talk about their experience.
