Richard Fleischman & Associates Expands Its Role as Trusted Technology Advisor

New York, NY - 9 January 2008

Richard Fleischman & Associates (RFA), a leader in outsourced IT solutions and the trusted technology advisor to more than 400 hedge funds and private equity firms, today announced plans to enhance its role as a trusted advisor for it financial service clients and increase its focus in 2008 on protecting their client’s intellectual capital assets. RFA will increase its focus on educating clients about the need to create a technology infrastructure that is resilient enough to withstand disruption, but must be flexible enough to accommodate change.

“Many companies have opted to rely on simple firewall security that is woefully inadequate to safeguard their interests in what has become a dangerous environment for hedge funds, so we have worked together with our vendor partners to address our client’s security needs,” says Richard Fleischman, president of RFA.

RFA has spent the last year focusing on optimizing its client’s network security to extend beyond the firewall to protect their client’s intellectual property. RFA’s Defender solution was designed to meet the growing needs of the hedge fund and investment firm environment to provide the first line of defense that goes beyond attack signatures for detecting and blocking malicious executables.

Defender is an integrated data protection solution of several highly researched and field-tested products, which include:

-Sentinel – managed security service to proactively combat security threats.

-Guardian – data leak prevention for comprehensive protection of data, ports, channels and networks.

-FireEye – intrusion detection that stops crimeware in its tracks.
-Mail Sentry – e-mail security to stop threats not detected by traditional security solutions.

Defender helps RFA track what files people can access, what they are doing with them and then restrict them based on preset rules.

Each RFA solution is not boilerplate in nature and the company works closely with its clients to develop business continuity planning (BCP) solutions that are tailored to satisfy their businesses’ critical needs.

“We have always been very consultative with our clients and that begins very early in the relationship,” says Fleischman. “By answering client’s questions and providing clear and honest counsel, we have been continually growing and evolving our own business.”

Fleischman notes that the relationship his team has with their clients allows RFA to take on the role of trusted advisor and become an extension of their team. It is this role that differentiates RFA from a typical technology-outsourcing provider.

“Serving as our client’s trusted technology advisor, we safeguard their interests every step of the way,” says Donald Previti, director of business development at RFA. “It’s our responsibility to act as their CTO and guide them with security and technology that helps protect their corporate reputation and investor trust. The services and facilities we have developed are a direct result of this trust.”
