ICAP voted overall interdealer broker of the year by Risk Magazine

ICAP plc, the world’s premier interdealer broker, has been voted overall interdealer broker of the year in Risk Magazine’s annual rankings published this month. ICAP was placed in the first position in more products (35) than any other broker and scored particularly well in interest rates, where it placed first in 29 categories. ICAP’s joint venture in the currency options market, TFS-ICAP, was successful in a further 7 products in the currencies sector.

David Casterton, Managing Director of ICAP Europe said: “We are delighted to have been voted interdealer broker of the year and to have scored in so many categories this year. The Risk survey represents the views of the market as a whole, so it is particularly pleasing to be recognised in this way by our customers.”

The survey of almost 1,000 market professionals covered 119 derivative products in the interest rate, foreign exchange, credit and equity markets. ICAP was previously named interdealer broker of the year in the 2006 Risk awards and broker of the year in the 2006 Energy Risk Awards. Earlier this year, ICAP was also named 2007 Carbon Broker of the Year by Point Carbon.
