Speaking on the occasion, Rama Sivaraman, Senior Vice President and Head, Corporate Quality, Polaris Software Lab, said, âPolaris was the first company in the world to achieve CMMI Level 5 certification. This reassessment is very significant because SCAMPI V 1.2 is the latest and most stringent appraisal methodology recently launched by SEI. Polaris is one of the first few companies in the world to opt for reassessment against version 1.2. About 57% of Polarisâ employees have been covered through two distinct back-to-back and independent appraisals, which makes these appraisals very unique. â
The Phase 1 of these appraisals, covering CMMI training, appraisal methodology training, and review of work products of over 75 projects (45% of all projects), was completed between December 5 and 22, 2006. Phase 2, called the âon-siteâ period and comprising interviews of representatives of projects and functions, was completed between January 22 and February 8, 2007.
Commenting on this reassessment, Arup Gupta, President and COO, Polaris Software Lab, said, âThis appraisal highlights Polarisâ sustained commitment to maintaining high maturity levels. It is a timely shot in the arm when the company is bullish on enhancing its solutions portfolio and global customer landscape.â
Trimentus Technologies was the Lead Appraiser for these appraisals. Under the SCAMPI V 1.2 methodology, only a Lead Appraiser certified by SEI is authorized to conduct a Level 4 or 5 appraisal.
The Lead Appraiser from Trimentus said, âThe appraisals conducted have revealed a very consistent and a uniform implementation of high maturity practices not only across all locations but also across all BSCs.
