2007 shaping up to be a busy year for OBSL

March 2007

2007 is shaping up to be a busy year for OBSL, building on our successes of 2006.

OBSL are currently engaged by the Investment Management arm of a major European Bank to assist with their program to replace Fixed Income processing systems. This has been a challenging assignment with OBSL consultants managing the testing of the Repo module and training Operations staff to use the new software.

Our extensive securities business knowledge, coupled with disciplined, delivery focussed approach to project management has been key to the successful completion of this assignment.

John Comben, Managing Director of OBSL says:

“This assignment is a good example of OBSL being able to provide top quality resource to meet a client’s need at a very competitive price. Our consultants have all learned their trade working for tier one Investment Banks and Investment Management firms. We can make this level of expertise available to clients at little more than contractor rates. This is particularly important for European based clients where there is a relatively limited contractor market with larger consultancy firms charging top rates.”

We are also working in the London office of a major Dutch bank, to assist with the procurement and implementation of a new processing system for Exchange Traded Derivatives. This will also entail the re engineering of the current process flows both for Operations and Finance.

John Comben, Managing Director of OBSL says:

“OBSL has worked to build a strong relationship with this client. Having initially been assigned to manage and deliver the Operations element of the bank’s Sarbanes-Oxley readiness program, we have been asked to assist with the implementation of a new ETD processing system. By working in partnership with the client, we have developed an understanding of the client’s needs and ways of working. This has helped us to deliver the solutions they want.”

What’s next?

We have a number of key initiatives underway. This includes an updated website, which will provide clients and prospective clients with up to date information on the Company and the work it is undertaking. We are also looking to move to larger premises in the near future.

In terms of business development, we are looking to expand our web design and hosting service, working in conjunction with IAS Solutions Limited. We will also continue to work hard to further develop our relations with existing clients.
Regarding new business, the outlook is very promising. We are building strategic relationships with a number of established consultancies and software vendors. Working with them to bring products to the market place and provide implementation skills.

Our key aim, as always is to provide top quality resources at the most competitive prices and to deliver “practical solutions to complex issues”
