Mellon, leveraging subsidiary Eagle Investment Systemsâ (Eagle) data management solution, will use the Valordata Feed (VDFTM) to integrate a broad range of securities reference data from VDF -- including security descriptions, ID cross-reference and corporate actions/events -- into Mellonâs Eagle PACE solution. Eagle PACE is an advanced data management platform that provides seamless connectivity and data integration from numerous sources and consolidates it in one location, providing a consistent, high-quality view of investment data.
Consolidating its security master data on the Eagle PACE platform has provided significant benefits to Mellonâs internal and external customers, as it allows Mellon to clean, enrich, extract and distribute data to meet the dynamic reporting and information requirements of the enterprise, as well as the clients.
âWe chose Telekurs because of its unique combination of structured database and fully encoded data, as well as extensive global coverage and high quality," said Amy G. Harkins, Mellon senior vice president and managing director of Mellon market data and director of global asset servicing. "Mellonâs security master file covers descriptive and pricing data for our extensive securities selection, along with corporate actions, which are critical to the effective management of our various customer and internal portfolios. By enriching the Eagle PACE environment with data from Telekursâ Valordata Feed, Mellon is able to further eliminate human intervention in the security master workflow. This is an invaluable addition to our drive toward STP.â
âEagle PACE provides the ideal staging platform for the completely encoded data from Telekurs VDFâ, said John Lehner, Eagle president. âThe synergies of the software and the data will provide extensive benefits to Mellon and other mutual customers in terms of enhanced data quality, improved data processing, reduced errors, extended data extraction and reporting capabilities.â
The Valordata Feed delivers information from Telekursâ vast database of structured, encoded securities information. Covering over 3 million global instruments, VDF includes information about issuers, trading places, prices, underlying instruments, ID cross-reference, ratings, payment events, corporate actions and much more. Because all the information in the database is fully structured and encoded, all this information â both current and historical - is linked together for superior processing results.
âAs a global financial institution responsible for more than $5 trillion in assets, Mellon requires the best possible data and technical solutions. VDF delivers the breadth of information they require, in a structure that promotes STP and in formats that facilitate communication, including ISO 15022 message for efficient corporate actions communicationâ, said Barry Raskin, President of Telekurs (USA) Inc. âWe are pleased that the Mellon has chosen to expand its relationship with Telekurs Financial, and that our Valordata Feed fills such an important function within the company's reference data management process.â
