OASIS components to be implemented by Couch to administer its Lawyers Professional Liability business include:
- Policy Management (PM)
- Financial Management (FM)
- Central Information System (CIS)
- OASIS Document Solution (ODS)
- Data Warehouse
Couch, DTIâs first Program Manager client, will write business in several northeast states for a large property & casualty carrier. Using DTIâs OASIS solution, Couch will quote, rate, and issue policies for the program as well as quote brokerage business for other carriers. Implementation will take a phased approach, with an initial focus on implementation of the program business. Couch will also use OASIS to track claims data provided by the carriers.
In addition to being the first DTI Program Manager client, Couch is the first to use OASIS to manage professional liability for lawyers. One of the key reasons for choosing OASIS was the solutionâs unique capabilities for processing and servicing professional liability business. OASIS was built from the ground up to serve the professional liability market, and is not an âall linesâ system pressed into PL service.
George Rawding, President of Couch Braunsdorf and Rawding (CBR), commented, "As we discussed working with the property & casualty carrier to administer its Lawyer Professional Liability business we knew we needed to demonstrate to them that we not only had the underwriting and business skills, but also the technology infrastructure to properly support the business. The carrier was involved in our evaluation of potential solutions and has fully endorsed our decision to use DTIâs OASIS system."
OASIS will be deployed via a hosted solution with OASIS being maintained by DTI at an IBM Hosting Center, and Couch users remotely accessing the system from their New Jersey office. Via the DTI hosted solution, Couch is able to utilize all of the features of OASIS without the high up-front costs and implementation time typically associated with traditional software licensing models.
President Sam Fang of DTI noted: âWe appreciate Couchâs confidence in our OASIS solution and see this as an opportunity to deploy our professional liability system for the MGAs that typically service the non-medical professional liability business. This new relationship with Couch is especially important to our market expansion strategy.â
