VSoft Corporation, a global information and technology provider of process improvement solutions for financial institutions, announced that First National Bank of Dieterich (FNB Dieterich), a $170 million asset size community bank serving the Illinois communities of, Effingham, Jasper and Clay counties, has chosen to implement its Check 21, Branch Item Capture and COLD solutions. The upgraded Check 21 solution will allow the bank to capture check images at their branch locations and facilitates direct exchange in compliance with Check 21 legislation.
âBranch item capture is the next step in expanding our Check 21 imaging services and maximizing cost savings realized from image exchange,â said Burnel Beckman, VP of Operations of First National Bank of Dieterich. âBroadening our imaging capabilities using VSoftâs imaging solutions is a natural fit for our operations, and we look forward to the ongoing savings and time improvements Branch Item Capture will bring to our network of bank locations. With a new location being added later this year, there was added incentive to take this stepâ
FNB Dieterich is an existing VSoft customer, running Image Archive since 2000 and Image Statements solutions since 2003. Recently, the bank chose to upgrade to a Check 21-enabled system with VSoftâs eDesk Genesis as well as eDesk COLD, an enterprise-wide report management and distribution system accessible via secure intranet and Internet channels.
âBanks of all sizes are discovering much greater benefits from Check 21 as they extend imaging beyond the central operations center out into the branches,â said Murthy Veeraghantha, president of VSoft Corporation. âFirst National Bank of Dieterich provides a great example of how a community financial institution can leverage a Check 21 solution to decrease cost and improve the bankâs branch operations.â
VSoftâs Branch Item Capture allows FNB Dieterichâs four branch locations to capture check images and data at the branch level with small desktop scanners. The images and MICR data are then sent electronically to the central location, eliminating the need to physically transport the actual checks. The eDesk Genesis solution allows for the exchange of electronic cash letters with images directly, through exchange organizations, or printing substitute checks if an endpoint cannot receive electronic cash letters.
