Before founding Gomez, Inc., Mr. Gomez was a capital markets executive for more than 11 years. He held Trading, Sales, and Corporate Finance positions with HSBC, Security Pacific, and Bank of Boston. Gomez also founded and ran his own brokerage firm specializing in state and local bond issues. Gomez will take over the capital markets and risk management research practices at Financial Insights, and will lead the creation of a new investment service offering. Further details of the new offering will be announced in early April, 2007.
"We think that there is tremendous opportunity to grow the capital markets practice at Financial Insights and to help our clients benefit from expert analysis of changes in this dynamic market," states Michon Schenck, chief operating officer, Financial Insights. "Given the importance and the visibility of this research, we clearly needed a heavy hitting executive to manage it. I cannot think of a more perfect candidate than Julio Gomez. He has been both a market practitioner, faced with the decisions every capital markets manager struggles with, as well as a market research executive who has carefully followed, evaluated, and advised industry executives on how to compete and grow in our market."
In addition to enhancing the capital markets research practice area, Financial Insights also expanded in Europe recently, hiring Parveen Bansal and Ricardo Arruda, analysts who joined the Financial Insights European Financial Services practice, which covers banking, brokerage, investments, and insurance segments and their underlying technology solutions in Europe.
