BNP Paribas named equity derivatives house of the year

Risk magazine has named BNP Paribas as the Equity Derivatives House of the Year in its 2007 awards.

Over 2006, the BNP Paribas equities and derivatives (EQD) business recruited over 200 people as its strengthened its position, boosted its presence in the US and added resources to its corporate, fund-linked and structured product offerings.

Yann Gerardin, global head of EQD at BNP Paribas, said: "This award reflects an excellent 2006 for the business, as our innovative capabilities and the growth of our client activity have clearly distinguished us from our competitors.

"We have ambitious growth targets for the coming year and are confident that our platform will cross new frontiers, in terms of modelling and risk management."

The EQD business at BNP Paribas has now tripled in size over the last four years to 900 members of staff.
