StreamBase Systems Inc., the leading provider of high-performance Complex Event Processing (CEP) software, today announced a number of ground-breaking milestones from 2006 that have exceeded investorsâ expectations and will pave the path for the company to drive triple-digit growth in 2007.
âI am proud to report that we set audacious goals for 2006, and have overachieved in all dimensions,â said Barry Morris, chairman and CEO of StreamBase. âBased on our success in 2006, we have further solidified our leadership as offering the industryâs highest-performing complex event processing software for real-time and historical data. Adoption of StreamBase is not only spreading like wildfire in financial services, but also in other sectors such as the government and e-Business.â
Specifically, the major achievements for StreamBase within the past twelve months include:
Customer Growth in Financial Services & Beyond â In financial services, StreamBase is now leveraged by more than half of the top ten investment and asset management firms for applications including algorithmic trading, latency monitoring, compliance, and execution management for a variety of asset classes. In other industries, StreamBase has also been adopted by end-user customers and partners for network and systems monitoring; anti-money laundering compliance; web analytics; e-fraud detection and protection; and a variety of federal government applications.
Unmatched Product Innovation & Performance â StreamBase announced support for 64-bit operating systems to drive the fastest processing of real-time and historical data. A threefold increase in performance was also announced that enables StreamBase to process from tens of thousands to over one-million messages per second with near-zero latency. In other news, the Company announced integration with JMS messaging systems such as TIBCO Enterprise Message Service⢠(EMS) and Microsoft .NET integration through the StreamBase Software Development Kit (SDK). StreamBase also released the industryâs broadest persistence capabilities, featuring StreamBase Chronicle for querying and processing of up to tens of TBs of historical data; and certification with IBM as a âReady for DB2â partner.
Setting the Standard for Programmability â StreamBase led a number of initiatives offering a standards-based approach for building enterprise-class stream processing applications. The summer release of the StreamSQL text language for processing and querying real-time and stored data was followed by the launch of Project StreamSQL, an industry-wide initiative to standardize extensions to the SQL language for stream processing. Most recently, StreamBase released a new set of Eclipse-based plug-ins that makes it easy to extend and rapidly integrate StreamBase applications into any enterprise environment.
Largest CEP Developer Community â StreamBase furthered its commitment in delivering the tools and resources developers and end users need to quickly build high-volume, low-latency streaming data applications by executing three major initiatives:
> StreamBase has made it easy for programmers and end users to evaluate its enterprise-class stream-processing software by making the StreamBase Developer Edition software available for download.
> The Quest for the Da Vinci Coder, co-sponsored by AMD, provided the opportunity to test-drive StreamBase in a fun, interactive, and intellectually stimulating competition. The contest resulted in more than 35,000 downloads of the Da Vinci Coder parody video and the StreamBase Developer Edition. The winning Da Vinci Coder application, named âMemeFinder,â leverages StreamBase for processing text information such as RSS feeds, news articles, blogs and email.
> The StreamBase Developer Zone provides developers with free tools, best practices, and technology-driven resources for building CEP applications.
Award-Winning Client Success & Product Excellence â StreamBase received a significant amount of third-party recognition in 2006:
> Wall Street On Demand, a Goldman Sachs company, was named an InfoWorld 100 winner for leveraging StreamBase to execute real-time market data analysis.
> Dr. Michael Stonebraker, Founder and CTO of StreamBase, was recognized by InfoWorld's editors as a "Top 25" CTO for pioneering complex event processing & streaming data applications.
> The editors of Intelligent Enterprise named StreamBase a âCompany to Watch.â
