Established in 2002, Quipoz is an emerging Australian provider of a comprehensive range of legacy software transformation services, which convert older client server systems into the latest architectures such as J2EE (Java2 Enterprise Edition) and .NET.
The completed project has resulted in the transformation of Bravura Solutionsâ Talisman wealth application products from PowerBuilder and Sybase platforms, into the modern and more costefficient Java, JSF (Java Server Faces) and Oracle platforms. Bravura Solutionsâ new web based product suite is called Sonata.
Mr Mark Midwinter, Quipoz Director of Insurance and Financial Services said: âThis has been our most advanced and challenging project to date, enabling Quipoz to put to use leading-edge technology to transform Bravura Solutionsâ older client server systems. We are delighted to be working with Bravura Solutions to achieve the seamless transformation of their older systems and bring Sonata to market.
âOur work has contributed to the amalgamation of Bravura Solutionsâ intellectual property into a single technology platform. Specifically, Bravura Solutionsâ
Talisman software has been reengineered to comply with their chosen strategic architecture. This will enable them to maintain the new application with fewer resources and add new function more rapidly. Ultimately, this improved efficiency will benefit the end-users.â
Bravura Solutionsâ Talisman software is part of the Sonata suite of applications and is used for the administration of wrap platforms, master trusts, retail and wholesale unit trusts, and retirement products. In the coming months, Talisman will undergo assessment services through a joint testing facility established by Bravura Solutions and IBM in Dalian, China. Earlier this year the Sonata suite of applications became certified under IBMâs Insurance Application Architecture (IAA)
and a version of Sonata is already in use.
Mr Iain Dunstan, Bravura Solutionsâ Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director said:
âWe selected Quipoz to transform our Talisman suite of applications because we wanted the most efficient and cost-effective means of merging all our information technology into a common architecture, while preserving all business logic. Going forward, working from a single integrated architecture will radically improve our product speed to market, as well as our ability to deploy legislative changes more efficiently.
âUnlike the traditional approaches to upgrading older systems, which involve considerable risk and cost, the Quipoz transformation methodology costs substantially less and is achieved with significantly reduced risk. We are impressed with their work on our Sonata applications and look forward to working with Quipoz in the future.â
