Morgan Stanley hires Lehman execs for Latin America

Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management has announced the appointment of a new regional sales manager for Latin America.

In addition to hiring Jon to the position, the company has also hired a new team of five investment professionals.

The Morgan Stanley Latin American investment team will advise wealthy Brazilian clients and institutions in the region and the new members are Bruno Gorgatti, Walter Alves, Alexandre Filizola and Aderson de Almeida. All five new Morgan Stanley Latin American employees will be based in Miami.

Mr Mallon will report to Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management managing director and head of Latin American operations, Ernesto de la Fe, and will assume responsibility for the oversight and ongoing sales management of the new private wealth office in Miami.

Five of the sales specialists that Morgan Stanley has hired for its Latin American private wealth management business come from Lehman Brothers.

The announcement comes just weeks after the company appointed a team of ten people from Goldman Sachs and four from Lehman. Mr de la Fe came to Morgan Stanley having worked for six years at Lehman Brothers.
